Government polytechnic college for women, Madurai was established in the year 1963 at the Tamilnadu polytechnic college campus. Then started to function in a new campus from January 1972 with growing students strength , new courses and buildings. Institute provide Engineering and non-Engineering educational and training services at the Diploma level to women students who have passed 10th std +2, and ITI (10thd std + 2 years) selected according to the state prescribed norms using the Tamilnad
