The Institute was established in the academic year 1986 with a single course i.e. Diploma in Textile Technology. Earlier this course was conducted in MBTS Government Polytechnic, Guntur from 1963. The Institute has AICTE approval from 2009-10 to 2017-18 for all the academic years.
