Y. B. Patil Polytechnic was established in 1984. The Polytechnic was in Kolhapur and transferred to Pune in 1990 in proximity to Pimpri Chinchwad Industrial Complex. At the present the Polytechnic is in Akurdi Educational Complex of Dr. D. Y. Patil Prathisthan. The polytechnic has state of the art building and well equipped laboratories.
