Renewable Energy is a unique program which provides a detailed insight to understand various fields of energy including solar, wind, biogas and biomass etc. Students who possess strong analytical skills and are interested in the study of energy production techniques with renewable energy strategies and policies. Renewable energy studies are considered as a challenging field and those who are willing to take it can opt for this course. Students who are good with math and science find this course interesting and can apply related principles to solve problems in this course.

Renewable Energy

Renewable energy engineering course prepared the students to deal with the theoretical and practical aspects of renewable energy technologies and its implementation, conservation and management in real-life scenarios. Along with this, the course also includes aspects of energy infrastructure, rational use of energy, its policies and regulations and energy-environment interface etc.

Currently, the renewable energy and other alternative energy sectors are growing rapidly considering the fact of the depletion of conventional energy sources and the importance of environment-friendly technologies for it. This branch of engineering contributes to the promotion of a clean and green environment by addressing the critical issue of energy security which has been faced by all the countries worldwide.

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and Mumbai, National Institute of Technology, Trichy, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, VIT University, SRM University, Rajasthan Technical University etc are some of the top engineering colleges in India offering Renewable Energy course.

How to Join

One who wants to join Signal Processing should pass the qualifying examination with an aggregate score of 55% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. After completing the same, the student has to appear for the Joint Entrance Exam Main (JEE - Main) to get admission into one of the top colleges or universities in India.

Most of the engineering colleges in India offer admission to students based on the JEE Main examination. It is a national level entrance examination done by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in India.

Graduate Aptitude Test (GATE) is the national level entrance examination for admission to postgraduate courses by the IITs and IISc in India. Admission to these institutions is offered based on the score secured in GATE by the candidate.

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is the national level apex authority responsible for the regulation and control of all engineering colleges and courses available in India. AICTE is the statutory authority responsible for proper planning and coordination on the development of the technical education system in India.

Career Prospects

Job opportunities are waiting for successful graduates in consulting companies, manufacturing firms, NGOs, steel and power-based industries, energy and private firms etc. Graduates can also opt to work in research and development firms in the public sector. They are mostly employed in areas like photo-voltaic cells, solar energy sector, power distribution, solar panel manufacturing, grid system, wind energy etc.
