About Foundry Technology

It involves melting, moulding, and casting parts. It contains a few foundry techniques, basic metal casting phenomena, and product characteristics in work. The foundry process consists in making mould and core, melting and pouring the metal into the mould, removing the mould and core, and finishing the product. The common moulding material is sand—the producing casting by filling the moulds with molten metal alloys, most of the aluminium. Later on, the solidified part is taken out of the mould to complete the process further.

The process starts from the casting of metal, which further leads to be processed into the shapes by the process of melting, and at last, the molten liquid is being poured into the sand.

Eligibility and Career in Foundry Technology

The candidate should have passed a 10+2 class for this course type diploma in any stream or university. To ultimately become an engineer in the fields related to casting, the candidate needs a graduate degree in B.E. or B.Tech or at least a diploma in any of the areas of engineering. The duration of the foundry technology diploma course is one year.
