About Mechanical and Automation Engineering

Mechanical and automation engineering is a branch that mainly deals with designing and manufacturing machines with robotic applications. This branch assembles different engines, machines and power plants to structure and design vehicles of all sizes and control systems of devices and their regulating technologies. This branch deals with the concepts and processing of the creation and production of heavy machinery and automobiles. Branch of mechanical and automation engineering deals with an understanding of control systems, machinery structure and information technologies. It deals with knowledge about thermal science, electrical machinery and electronics, mechanics and much more branches.

What is Mechanical and Automation Engineering?

Mechanical and automation engineering is a branch that deals with assembling different engines, machines and power plants of vehicles. It mainly deals with designing and manufacturing cars and automobiles of varying structure, size and design. In this branch, students were taught about different theory machines and critical materials for manufacturing devices. The student also gets knowledge of conceptions, practical knowledge, thermal science, programming and electrical machinery.  This branch taught students about mechanical and engineering components which applied for coupling of different industrial automation systems.  This branch teaches other techniques and principles of mechanics and materials, energy equipment to design and manufacture machine and automation devices of various types. This branch also involves in the study development, size, industrialisation of all automated mechanical systems.  In this domain, students also learn about the creations and assembling of different parts of automobiles.  In this branch, students were taught about the application of various mathematical models and formulas. In this branch, students also learn about automotive formula applications.

Along with all these, the student learns about mechanical, software electricity and safety measures also.  Students taught about safety engineering in which they learn about assessment of various crash scenarios and effect on vehicle occupants. Students also conducted fuel emission and fuel efficiency and fuel emission testing that will help measure the emission of different harmful gases like carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, and carbon dioxide in the environment. Students are also taught about all safety and precautionary measures and communication skills to cope with unfavourable conditions in their careers. The student taught about all laws and environmental policies also to keep the environment pollution-free. The student was also made aware of the ecological, legal, and safety aspects of automation technology.

Eligibility and Career in Mechanical and Automation Engineering

As mentioned above, engineering in the mechanical and automation branch is a growing field. It has enormous growth potential in mid to long-term perspectives.  There are several career paths one can choose after specialise in the mechanical and automation engineering branch. Like all other engineering courses, this course also requires a 10+2 education from a recognised and reputed school or college. Several postgraduate and master programs are also available in this field to specialise in mechanical and automation engineering.  Undergraduate degree lasts from 2-4 years, and post-graduation courses last for 1-3 years.
