About Civil Environmental Engineering

Civil environmental is a course in engineering that deals with protecting and conserving the environment or ecological resources. These engineers are responsible for the infrastructure which provide clean air to breathe, clean water to drink and safe buildings to live in. This engineering involves the treatment and distribution of drinking water. It includes applied research and teaching function, project planning and management and operation of facilities, the enforcement of environmental standards and regulations and the sale and Marketing of environmental control equipment.

Examples of civil ecological engineering projects include dams, the system for recycling and reusing building waste in construction, municipal water supply and water waste treatment facilities, plants to desalinate ocean water to irrigate crops. This system assists refining in reducing air pollutants and more.

What is Civil Environmental Engineering?

The civil environmental engineering course mainly focuses on developing strategies to prevent or reduce harm to the environment. Ecological Engineers work to improve recycling, waste disposal, public health and water and air pollution control. There are many options after completing the course of civil environmental study that a person can do. I hope that the engineer would work to protect the environment by managing the waste materials, utilising renewable sources of energy, reducing pollution, etc. After completing their course, the candidate may take up jobs in the environment, energy and agriculture sector of the non-government and government organisations. However, the student will be getting fantastic job opportunities under this program.

They may work as Field chemists, Hydrogeologists, Wasteland ecologists, Air quality Engineers, safety design managers, Assistant specialists, Environmental engineers, Waste resource managers, etc. Also, they will be obliged with excellent knowledge of civil environmental engineering. This course is also one of the most demanded courses among the students who keep a keen interest in learning about the principles required for conserving the environment through civil engineering. Students will be learning about all the necessary significant fields for conservation of the environment and other infrastructures which may harm the environment. If you love nature and want to be more concerned about nature, then you must up for this course.

Eligibility and Career in Civil Environmental Engineering

The eligibility criteria are the same for environmental engineering as other engineering courses. Suppose the candidate is doing the BTech or B.E course. The candidate should be passed by 10+2 boards examination with mathematics, physics and chemistry. The minimum is 60% marks in the aggregate for the general candidate and 55% in aggregate for the reserved category candidate. And a good score in JEE Advanced, JEE main and state level entrance tests. In the course MTech or M.E, the candidate should be passed in the final semester of BTech with a minimum of 60% marks in the aggregate and a good score in GATE.

The duration of the BTech course in environmental engineering is four years. The MTech course in environmental engineering is two years. The student will get the excellent salary of these engineers is also of a reasonable amount. The Engineers draw a compensation of Rs. 3-4 lakhs per annum. But the senior Engineers may draw a salary of Rs 9-10 lakhs per annum.
