About Computer Science and Information Security

This course is only available at Post Graduate level and aims to provide talented and skilled individuals in the field of Information security. This course is highly focused on innovative research. This course is also sponsored by the Govt’s Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies and directly funded in multiple universities. This course also aims to strengthen the fundamentals of computer science along with information security. Information is susceptible in today's world, and there is a massive requirement of professionals who can protect their data. Companies and individuals need engineers who can protect their data from security threats. Students who take part in this course will understand information security and design security solutions to business and individual needs. This said, in the coming years, as more parts of the world get digitized, information security will be getting even more popular and in demand.

What is Computer Science and Information Security?

In this course, students will be taught everything from Cybercrime, Network Security, Data structure, Design and algorithm, cryptography etc. Students will be learning about the protection of networks, unauthorized access, data system, internet security and the best ways to implement these systems. Activities for the students will involve maintaining digital documents and figuring out who did the unauthorized access. It is a highly recommended course for individuals interested in Cyber security, malware reverse engineering, cyber forensics etc. This course will equip the students with multiple skills that they will need in their careers: Work Ethics – Unarguably, this trait is essential in every field you work in. However, in information security, it holds particular importance since your work would require you to be very organized and detail approached to deliver quality results on time. Eligibility and Career Computer Science and Information Security

To be eligible for this course, a student should have completed their class 12 with an aggregate of at least 55% with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as their core subjects. The B tech in this course is of a 4-year duration. Students should have completed B. Tech in this subject for the Post Graduate course with at least 60% aggregate. The graduates of this field can find employment in both public and private sectors in ISRO, DRDO, private IT security firms, software development firms, IT consultancy firms etc.  The profiles available to these engineers are Cyber Security Architect, Cyber Security Engineer, Cyber Security Lead, Techincal Trainee etc.
