ELIGIBILITY AND CAREER IN INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT

You need to have an undergraduate degree with at least 60% average marks to be eligible for this program. You also need to clear the national-level entrance exam conducted by the university.  The tuition fee is between ₹3 lakhs to ₹5 lakhs per annum, depending on the university you join. After completion of this course, students can get M.S/M.Tech degree in countries such as India and Canada. Students who pursue the MS/M.Tech courses in industrial engineering and management can work in manufacturing, transportation, government sector, banking sector, IT sector and food processing industries.

Industrial Engineering and Management offers both breadth and depth of knowledge, which means you'll acquire broad fundamental knowledge in all management aspects. This fundamental knowledge is complemented with the ability to apply engineering principles, mathematical methods, statistical tools, cost accounting, control systems etc., to various management-related problems. Also, it is helpful to engineers after their 8-14 years of experience. Numerous companies employ Industrial Engineering and Management students, including TATA, Infosys, Wipro, BSNL, DRDO, ISRO. An industrial engineer can get a job as a project manager, operation manager, quality manager, facility engineer in a private or government company. The annual starting salary for an industrial engineer ranges from Rs. 3.6 lakhs to Rs. 5 lakhs.
