About Marine Engineering and Systems

Marine engineering systems (MES) focus on a wide variety of engineering related to the marine world. That includes building a ship to designing a harbour. Or, in simpler words, it is a study about the construction, operation and designing of machines or equipment that are sea-related.

What is Marine Engineering and Systems?

Marine engineers build and designs machines that are used around and in the sea world. These four undergraduate programs for aspirants to pursue. They are BE in marine engineering, B.Tech in marine engineering, BE in mechanical engineering, B.Tech in mechanical engineering. All of these courses have a course time of four years. And there are masters for the courses mentioned above, namely, ME in marine engineering, M.Tech in marine engineering, ME in mechanical engineering, M.Tech in mechanical engineering. And these masters are of four-year duration. These courses concentrate on building and designing machines and equipment used in the marine world, including building and creating a ship and harbour and building and developing pieces of equipment and devices used in seaports. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Chennai, Indian Maritime University Kolkata, and Birla Institute of Technology and Science has recognized institutes in this field.
