About Computer-Aided Design Manufacture and Automation

CAM-CAD and automation program integrates design and manufacturing to promote the present industrial requirements. This program allows a comprehensive study in Advanced Computer-aided design, Computer-aided manufacturing technology, automation and Mechatronics. The program is deeply concerned with design and analysis, simulation, planning and purchasing, cost accounting, scheduling, inventory control and distribution, product design, ergonomic design, Product life cycle management, supply chain management, enterprise management. To achieve automated manufacturing, CAM-CAD uses technologies like FMS, AGV, Robotics mechatronics, automated conveyor system in Computer-aided techniques like CAM, CAE, CAD, a business system integrated by a shared database.

What is Computer-Aided Design Manufacture and Automation?

This stream is designed to broaden and deepen the capacity of the students in analytical and experimental research methods, analysis of data, and drawing relevant conclusions for scholarly writing and presentations and also this stream will provide guidance to the students for their choice in research professional careers Outlook and to encourage students to take up research. Studying this course will make the students create the different wireframe primitives using parametric representation, surface primitives using parametric modelling, different solid primitives using different representation schemes, and apply geometric transformations on the creative wireframe surface the solid models.

With the laboratory classes in conjunctions, they help the students get the family ties with the computer graphics application and design. One of the main objectives of this course is studying theoretical subjects along with lab and design project is also proposed to carry out the detailed design calculations and analysis of any mechanical components and mechanical system which helps students to get familiar concerning the design methodologies applied to any component for a mechanical system subjected to Static, dynamic and thermo-mechanical loads.

Each student must select a new component or integrated mechanical system that includes various components that are to be designed per design standards and the further required to be analysed for optimum dimensions concerning strength and stiffness. It helps the students familiarise themselves with design standards, design calculations and analysis in designing and mechanical components of systems. This understanding reinforces the knowledge building land and the shortest overall learning curves necessary to solve CAE problems that arise in engineering.

Eligibility and Career option in Computer-Aided Design Manufacture and Automation

To pursue this bachelor's degree, a candidate applying for this course must have passed the 10+2 examination from any recognised state or central board with a minimum aggregated mark of 65%. This is a relaxation for the reserved category. Also, candidates must have passed Physics, Chemistry, and maths as their major subjects. With these conditions, candidates must also fill the individual college’s criteria to take admissions. Today this is one of the fast-evolving disciplines. In this sector, job opportunities are available in a wide range.

The engineers who belong to this field can work both in the public and private sectors. The core companies in design, manufacture and assembly aerospace engineering, agriculture, biomedical and electrical / electronics engineers, defence and automotive sectors and software companies dealing in product design and development projects and finally, research and development organisations are the major career scope in this sector. This domine has an excellent job scope in the future the graduates from this field can work with various job types.
