ABOUT COMPUTER SCIENCE (INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING)

Engineering in Electronics and Communication is a stream of engineering that involves researching and designing electrical equipment used for various equipment. The students will also be observing the manufacture of communication and broadcasting systems. The focus is on analogue transmission, microprocessor, satellite communication, wave progression etc.

In recent years the significance of students who graduate in this field has grown tremendously. This is due to the increased collaboration of electronics and digital technology-oriented towards communication. Today, ECE as a specialisation find its application among various fields. Moreover, many MNCs, govt enterprises, consumer, healthcare-oriented organisations give preference to ECE graduates. We believe that students who have passed out this course will be in massive demand in the future.

WHAT IS COMPUTER SCIENCE (INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING)?

ECE as a branch deals with electrons that cause a current. The course primarily deals with electronic circuits with communication systems and equipment like receiver, transmitter and antenna. These engineers are usually responsible for managing satellite broadcast and transmission, thus providing connectivity to television, internet and mobile services. As more parts of the world get connected to networking services, we expect this field to grow in future. They are also responsible for the creation of advanced services, such as video communication and call divert.  This course has an aim, to prepare for improving and creating other advanced communication systems.

The course will equip the students with knowledge of communication systems, communication networks, design, automation, robotics etc. This course study hopes to impart professional enhancement among its students through soft skills, personality development, employability, etc. Students will be provided with lectures and meetings with experts by collaborating with various industries so graduates can be exposed to first-hand exposure. Seminars and Project-driven skills, along with industrial visits, will be further focused on increasing student exposure to real-world situations. The focus will also be on software skills, industrial input and innovative potential. Overall the holistic development of students will be seen after successfully clearing this course.

Students can expect the curriculum to be as: Semester 1 shall have students deal with engineering mathematics, engineering physics, engineering chemistry, programming etc. Semester 2 will have elements of mechanical engineering, basics of electronics and communication engineering. The third and fourth semesters will have courses like analogue circuits, microcontrollers, logic design, Control systems, Network Analysis etc. After this, Management and Entrepreneurship, analogue communication, coding, VLSI will be focused upon. With this, OS, antennas and propagation, microcircuits, processors and Digi communication will be taught to students. The last parts of this course will deal with Wireless, computer communication, optical fibres and power electronics, along with various subtopics and project-based works.

ELIGIBILITY AND CAREER IN COMPUTER SCIENCE (INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING)

The eligibility for appearing in an Undergraduate course is that students must have completed 10+2 exams from a recognised board with PCM as their main subjects with an aggregate of 60%. For a PG, a 60% aggregate at B tech in the same course is needed. The course duration for B tech is four years.

The top recruiters from this field are Siemens, Intel, DMRC, Philips, Samsung etc. Students who pass out from this course can work as Electronic Engineer, Field test Engineer, Network planning engineers, Customer Support, Electronic Technician etc.
