ABOUT COMPUTER SCIENCE

Computer Science Engineering is a course that deals with designing, implementing, and improving information systems of hardware & software. One who has cleared this course is aware of theories of computation and further creates computational approaches. Many other courses are similar, but the fundamental differences are the core subjects taught and the purpose.  Since the increase in digitization, most companies have set up their businesses online; these companies depend on CSE graduates to ensure that no technical glitch occurs when running their systems. This said, many career options are thus available to CSE graduates in IT, telecommunication, database management, Multimedia, gaming, android development, etc.

WHAT IS COMPUTER SCIENCE?

This course deals with creating and managing information systems. This course deals with programming, algorithm, data structure, computer architecture, operating systems, etc. This course includes important topics related to theoretical computing as the main focus of this course. It includes subtopics such as Theory of computation, numerical methods, machine learning, programming, and paradigms. Nowadays, various colleges and institutes also provide image processing, data science, robotics, bio-inspired computing, computational biology, etc.

The course equips with analytical skills- In Computer Science, an engineer must identify a technical problem before figuring out the best solution. For this reason, it is needed for them to possess good analytical skills, which is what this course aims to teach them. Problem Solving Skills- Problems that are used to train CSE students are based on real-world issues. Therefore a student needs to figure out a solution and put it into action in an organized manner. Leadership Skills- In the future, as students cross milestones in their careers, they will be expected to lead teams towards completing a task. This is what will be focused upon in this course, along with others.  Students can expect the following curriculum: Computational maths, Digital Logic, Communications will be taught in the first semester. It is expected to build strong basics for students. OS, microprocessors, computer architecture, design of algorithms, Software engineering, and computer network are taught in the following semesters. The next part focuses on VLSI technology, Business process logic, industrial management, and soft computing as the course period head towards the end. The last parts of the course will be focusing on Multimedia, Internet, AI, and Economics.

ELIGIBILITY AND CAREER IN COMPUTER SCIENCE

Candidates who have completed 10+2 level with an aggregate of 50% marks with PCM as main subjects are eligible for this course. Only students who clear the entrance exam for this course are eligible for this course. Candidates also must go through a counseling session provided by their universities to sit for the course. For M tech, students need to complete a bachelor's degree to be eligible. The course for B tech is four years, and a course for M tech is two years.

Students who pass out from this course can enroll as web developers, software developers, computer system engineers, UI designers, hardware engineers, etc. The top recruiters for this field are Google, Amazon, Netflix, Flipkart, Facebook, etc.
