Engineering in Architecture (Town planning) is a more technical design, and development process focused on making the best use of land and constructing public infrastructure. What is Architecture (Town Planning)?

Students enrolled in this course are taught about city planning, housing, the application of computers in architecture and planning, principles of landscape design, and site planning. The syllabus also comprises environmental studies in building sciences, visual and urban design, history of architecture, and development of contemporary architecture. The curriculum comprises building construction and management, material and structural systems, planting theory, traffic and transportation planning, infrastructure services and amenities, development, administration, and management. It introduces students to both artistic skills and knowledge of science.

Eligibility and Career in Architecture (Town Planning)

To be eligible for admission to a B.Arch program, students must pass the 10+2 or equivalent exams from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% overall. B.Arch, B.Planning, or B.E. in civil engineering is required to enter the master's degree program in urban and regional planning. Candidates with an M.A./M.Sc. or equivalent degree in geography, economics, statistics, or sociology are eligible.

A postgraduate degree in architecture/planning or similar is required to be eligible for the PhD program. P.hD students with a master's degree in technology and a bachelor's degree in architecture/planning are eligible.

The marks acquired in class 10+2 are taken into account when applying for undergraduate courses. However, several entrance tests, like JEE Main, NATA, and BITSAT, are held annually for all UG degrees in this discipline.
