Machines are used in almost every sector in modern days, and increasing their efficiency is very important. This course combines various disciplines, manufacturing technology, engineering science, management science, and is designed to give students expertise in the manufacturing domain. This course will develop the fundamentals of students and will give them practical knowledge.   Students who take part in this fieldwork improve these machines in every aspect, from logistics to tools. Along with this, it is also the job of these engineers that machines be made highly cost-effective for use in the industry. Manufacturing which combines modern technological innovations, is a huge weapon for progress in current times; This entails that professionals in this field will be in huge demand in the coming future.

What is Mechanical Engg (Manufacturing Technology)?

Manufacturing Technology focuses on designing and improving manufacturing processes, control systems, implementing and planning industrial processes. This course is about studying the various advanced manufacturing processes and improving them through modelling and simulation enhanced techniques. The course will be teaching about automation, agricultural goods, modern communication etc. Students who participate in this course learn about manufacturing goods, converting raw materials to produce finished goods, and improving industrial production. Aside from these brief analysis of computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) is also given as emerging production techniques. The course equips students with various skills that they will need in their career as manufacturing engineers. Some of these skills that the course imparts are as follows: Teamwork skills – Students who graduate from this course are expected to work with people from diverse backgrounds to complete the projects given to them, making this skill very important. IT skills- A large part of manufacturing done today is through automation and computer applications, which enhances a professional's productivity, thus making it a huge requirement. Problem-solving skills- Students in this course will be required to analyze the current designs, find out the faults and come up with breakthroughs and solutions to these problems. Students lacking in this skill may suffer in their professional life. The course syllabus is designed to give students both theoretical and practical knowledge needed for this course. The following topics will be taught – Basics of Physics, Chemistry, English, mechanics etc. After this, students will be taught electrical circuits, fluid mechanics, engineering graphics, computer programming etc. Computer Graphics and Computer-Aided Drafting follow this, Metal casting and welding technology, Heat and Mass Transfer, Industrial Psychology. Finally, this course is concluded with Modern methods of manufacture, Quality Assurance and Inspection Methods, Manufacturing Design and C. A. E.
